On the Performance of Multihop-Intervehicular Communications Systems over n*Rayleigh Fading Channels
نویسندگان
چکیده
—We investigate the performance of multihop-intervehicular communication systems with regenerative and nonregenerative relaying. We consider the so-called " n*Rayleigh distribution " as an adequate multipath fading channel model for vehicle-to-vehicle communication scenarios. We derive a novel approximation for the outage probability of maximum ratio combining (MRC) diversity reception. In addition, we analyze the amount of fading and optimize the power allocation for the investigated scenario. Numerical results show that regenerative systems are more efficient than nonregenerative systems when the cascading order (í µí²) is small; however, for large í µí², our results demonstrate that the performance of both relaying techniques is rather similar.

Bit Error Performance for Asynchronous Ds Cdma Systems Over Multipath Rayleigh Fading Channels (RESEARCH NOTE)
In recent years, there has been considerable interest in the use of CDMA in mobile communications. Bit error rate is one of the most important parameters in the evaluation of CDMA systems. In this paper, we develop a technique to find an accurate approximation to the probability of bit error for asynchronous direct–sequence code division multiple–access (DS/CDMA) systems by modeling the multipl...
متن کاملEnergy Detection of Unknown Signals over Composite multipath/shadowing Fading Channels
In this paper, the performance analysis of an energy detector is exploited over composite multipath/shadowing fading channels, which is modeled by Rayleigh-lognormal (RL) distribution. Based on an approximate channel model which was recently proposed by the author, the RL envelope probability density function (pdf) is approximated by a finite sum of weighted Rayleigh pdfs. Relying on this inter...

Diversity combining techniques play an important role in combating the destructive effects of channel fading in wireless communication systems. In this work we present a blind diversity combining technique for Rayleigh flat fading channels based on Hammerstein type filters. We show that the performance of this technique is very close to ideal MRC system which is accepted as an optimum receiver ...

1 Abstract—In this letter, we consider the problem of energy detection of unknown signals in an intervehicular communication (IVC) system over n*Rayleigh fading channels (also known as cascaded Rayleigh). Novel tight approximations for the probability of detection are derived for the no-diversity and the maximum ratio combining (MRC)) diversity schemes. Moreover, we investigate the system per...
متن کاملPerformance Evaluation of Energy Detection in Spectrum Sensing for Cascaded Multihop Networks over Nakagami-n fading channel
The spectrum sensing is an important activity of cognitive radios over fading channels. A proper sensing performance depends upon the fading margin and number of relays within a wireless link. This paper evaluates the sensing performance of energy detector in multihop networks over Nakagami-n fading channels. The decode and forward relays are considered for the analysis because of their best pe...
